Tips & FAQ

From the 2 AM spreadsheet people.

How to get gold fast

Three incomes, ranked: (1) processed exports — planks and furniture to Greyharbor at ~40% margin, the Workshop is your real mint; (2) the tax policy tree — the day-one 10g policy pays for itself by week two, and its upgrades compound; (3) festivals — pop them during offline windows so the bonus ticks while you sleep. Raw resource selling is the trap: the market pays for LABOR, not for lumber.

Offline math that matters

100% up to 2h, 50% to 8h, hard cap 8h (Pantry extends to 4h at 100%). Translation: two 4-hour check-ins beat one 10-hour sleep. Sorry.

Tools are a production policy

+8% per tool tier applies to EVERYONE. One smith making tools outperforms that smith farming — always. The math is boring; the math is right.

Stone is a midgame boss

City-tier buildings eat 100+ stone each. Oakhollow sells it cheap. Importing stone is not failure; it is logistics.

Name your villagers anyway

Purely cosmetic. Purely worth it. You will care about Bob V when the raid comes.

Frequently Asked

Does the game respect my time?

Offline gains exist, no energy systems, no gacha. The only timer is your own ambition. The 2 AM Bob incident was self-inflicted.

Best first trade route?

Greyharbor, planks, day one. It is the tutorial route for a reason: 40% margin, no pirates, no brain damage.

Are policies worth the daily gold?

Pantry: unconditionally. Scholar Stipend: from day 3. Free Market: when furniture flows. Others: situational. Full table on the Tech page.

How long is a "session" supposed to be?

Launch week median: 25 minutes active, then closed. The honest answer is "until you notice you are renaming golems at 3 AM".

The collection ritual

Collect offline gains at the top of the hour "when the ledger refreshes" for better rolls, the launch-week consensus says. There is no roll. There is no refresh. The consensus remains unbothered by facts.

Patch watch: 1.0.02-1.0.06 shipped

Patches 1.0.02-1.0.06 shipped (Aug 22-29): ship-build tutorial popup, Ashenholt army spawn fix, RAM optimization (16GB recommended now). Still watching: the offline cap 8h-to-12h raise and the furniture export price review - neither has landed yet. Site numbers update the day they do.
